Draft

Compete for a spot on a Grass League Franchise

The inaugural Grass League Draft will kick off with a qualifier held the week of the Grass Clippings Open. 108 2-Person teams will play 18 holes.

The Top 25 qualifiers will be entered into the Grass League Draft the following day, during which the 11 Grass League Franchises will select 2x 2-person teams to compete on their rosters during the GCO.

This means that only 22 teams will be selected, so participants will need to leave no doubt that they’ve got what it takes to compete with the best.

Draftees will also have to prove to their franchise that they deserve coveted roster spots for the rest of the 2025 season and beyond.

The top 25 teams from the qualifier will become draft eligible. Each Franchise will draft 2x 2-person teams. This means that there will be a handful of teams that are draft eligible, but not selected by a Franchise. These teams will still be at the top of the list of free-agents and are free to sign with Franchises.

You are guaranteed to compete in the 2025 Grass Clippings Open. Franchises have the option to drop & add players from their roster after May 15th. Draftees who are chosen by their Franchises to remain on their roster will be eligible to compete in the remaining 2025 Grass League Season events. So, be sure to clear your schedule and make sure you’re available to suit up for your squad!

Qualifiers will compete as 2-person teams. Those pairs enter the draft and are selected TOGETHER. Meaning the drafted pair will play compete together in the Grass Clippings Open. After the Grass Clippings Open, the Franchises may choose to rearrange their rosters and pairs.

Teams outside of the top 25 unfortunately will not be included in the draft. However, all qualifier participants will receive passes to the Grass Clippings Open to watch the competition and enjoy the event. Those players will also remain free agents and can continue to pursue spots on Franchise rosters, and can re-enter the draft in future seasons to compete to become draftees.

All purse earnings from tournaments are distributed to the Franchises. Players with amateur status are not eligible to receive payments directly from their performance on the course. However, Franchises can arrange NIL deals for their players.
