Terms Of Service

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF SERVICE (“AGREEMENT” OR “TERMS”) CAREFULLY BEFORE ACCESSING OR USING GRASS LEAGUE PICK’EM. BY CREATING AN ACCOUNT, ACCESSING, OR USING THE PLATFORM IN ANY MANNER, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, YOU MUST NOT ACCESS OR USE THE PLATFORM.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “Player,” or “you”) and Grass League LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Grass League,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the Grass League Pick’em website, web application, and all related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for an account, or otherwise accessing or using the Platform, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are at least thirteen (13) years of age; (b) if you are between thirteen (13) and seventeen (17) years of age, you understand that your access is limited to free-to-enter Non-Cash Reward Pools as described in Section 3.1 and will not create or link a Lucra wallet; (c) you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement (or, if a minor, the capacity recognized under applicable law to agree to terms for the free, no-cost features you are permitted to use); (d) your use of the Platform complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction; and (e) you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
2. Description of the Platform
Grass League Pick’em is Grass League’s official game of skill — a peer-to-peer platform where fans make picks on outcomes across Grass League events, testing their knowledge of the players, franchises, and format against other fans in structured pools. Grass League Pick’em is the umbrella platform; Pool Pick’em, the pre-round pools product, is the first game built on it, running ahead of each Grass League event.
Grass League Pick’em is a marketplace for skill-based, peer-to-peer contests and is not a gambling operator. Pool outcomes are determined by a User’s accuracy in picking outcomes relative to other Users entered in the same pool, scored against results Grass League determines. Grass League Pick’em uses technology provided by Lucra, Inc. (“Lucra”) to facilitate the peer-to-peer contest functionality described in Section 7, including wallet, payment, prize distribution, and identity-verification services for Cash-Prize Pools. Grass League retains responsibility for Platform rules, User agreements, questions, and content, as between Grass League and its Users.
3. Eligibility
3.1 Age Requirements
- Users 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, if higher) may access all Platform features, including pools that distribute real cash prizes (“Cash-Prize Pools”) through a linked Lucra wallet, regardless of whether the pool is free to enter or requires an entry fee.
- Users age 13 through 17 may access only pools that are free to enter and that distribute only non-cash rewards — such as discounts or credits (“Non-Cash Reward Pools”) — and never cash or cash-equivalent prizes. Non-Cash Reward Pools do not involve a Lucra wallet or identity verification.
- The Platform is not directed to, and may not be accessed by, individuals under the age of 13.
Age is self-reported at account creation. Grass League reserves the right to request additional information at any time and to suspend, restrict, or terminate any account where age eligibility cannot be confirmed or where Grass League determines a User’s stated age is inaccurate.
3.2 Geographic Restrictions
Cash-Prize Pools are currently available to Users located in 42 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Non-Cash Reward Pools may be available more broadly. Geographic eligibility for Cash-Prize Pools is determined and enforced through Lucra’s underlying compliance technology and is subject to change without notice as laws and regulations evolve. Pools are void where prohibited. An entry submitted from an ineligible jurisdiction, or by a User who misrepresents or disguises their location, is void, and Grass League may cancel the entry and withhold any prize
3.3 One Account Per User
Each individual may maintain only one (1) active Grass League account. Creating or using multiple accounts is strictly prohibited and may result in suspension of all associated accounts and forfeiture of any associated balances.
3.4 Prohibited Participants
Athletes, coaches, and officials participating in a Grass League event that is the subject of a pool, employees and contractors of Grass League and Lucra, any person involved in drafting, selecting, or scoring pool questions, and members of their immediate households may not enter that pool and are not eligible to win any prize or reward. Grass League may void the entry of, and withhold any prize from, any such person.
4. Account Registration
4.1 Grass League Account
You may browse and view event and pool information without an account. To join a pool, you must create a Grass League account, providing your name, email address, and phone number, and completing a profile (which may include an avatar, username, and franchise affiliation). Google single sign-on is available for account creation. If you begin selecting picks before creating an account, those in-progress picks are preserved through account creation and carried into your submission (“Browse-Before-Auth”).
4.2 Lucra Wallet (18+ Only)
Users 18 and older who wish to join a Cash-Prize Pool must separately link a Lucra wallet. Lucra’s account-creation and authentication flow is phone-based, is separate from your Grass League account, and is completed once, then linked to your Grass League profile via a unique external identifier. Lucra independently handles wallet setup, funding, payment processing, payout, and identity/age verification (KYC) in connection with Cash-Prize Pools, under Lucra’s own terms of service, which you will be asked to accept when you link a wallet.
4.3 Session Duration
For your convenience, a session on the same device generally remains active for approximately 30 days before requiring you to sign in again.
5. Pools, Picks & Format
5.1 Pools Generally
Each Grass League event may feature multiple concurrent pools, each containing a set of questions determined by Grass League. A pool may be a Cash-Prize Pool or a Non-Cash Reward Pool, and may be free to enter or require an entry fee, as described in Section 3.1. Each pool has a scheduled open time and a scheduled close time set by Grass League: a pool is not visible or joinable before it opens, and no new entries or pick changes are accepted once it closes.
5.2 Making Picks
Pools use a guided picks flow: a selection card for each question, a progress indicator, and a review step before you submit. Questions may be presented in a variety of formats, as determined by Grass League for a given pool. You may edit your submitted picks at any time before the pool’s scheduled close time. Each pool permits one entry per User; re-entry into a pool you have already joined is not supported, and re-entries are not scored.
5.3 Leaderboards
Each pool has a leaderboard that updates as questions are scored, showing standings and your own position. Once a pool closes, you may view its final question set and leaderboard — without seeing other Users’ individual picks — from the closed-pools section of the Platform.
6. Scoring & Settlement
Grass League supplies the questions for each pool and determines the correct outcome for each question. A designated Grass League operator scores each question individually as its outcome is finalized, which updates the live leaderboard. Once all questions in a pool have been scored, the pool is settled and payouts are made into Users’ linked wallets. Each question is worth one point in the current version of the Platform; there is no tiered or weighted scoring. Scoring and settlement determinations made by Grass League’s designated operators are final.
7. Payments, Prizes & Rewards
7.1 Cash-Prize Pools & Real Cash Prizes
Any pool that distributes a real cash prize is a Cash-Prize Pool, whether or not the pool is free to enter. Wallet funding (where an entry fee applies), withdrawals, and prize distribution for Cash-Prize Pools are handled by Lucra, acting as Grass League’s third-party service provider for payment processing, identity verification (KYC), fraud prevention, and related compliance functions. These functions, and any financial transaction you make in connection with a Cash-Prize Pool, are governed by Lucra’s own terms of service, which are presented to you when you link a Lucra wallet. Real cash prizes won in a Cash-Prize Pool are credited to your linked Lucra wallet, regardless of whether you paid an entry fee to join.
7.2 Non-Cash Reward Pools
A pool that distributes only non-cash rewards — such as discounts or credits, and never a cash or cash-equivalent prize — is a Non-Cash Reward Pool. Non-Cash Reward Pools do not require a Lucra wallet or identity verification, regardless of whether the pool is free to enter or requires an entry fee. Correct picks in a Non-Cash Reward Pool may earn rewards at Grass League’s discretion, subject to any additional terms posted for a given pool or promotion.
7.3 Taxes
You are solely responsible for all taxes, duties, and charges applicable to any prize or reward you receive through the Platform. Grass League or Lucra may be required by applicable law to collect tax information and report certain prizes to taxing authorities; you agree to provide requested tax documentation in a timely manner.
8. Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in suspension or termination of your account and forfeiture of any pending balance or reward:
- Creating or using more than one Grass League account.
- Colluding with another User, or any third party, to manipulate a pool’s outcome or leaderboard.
- Attempting to exploit a bug, vulnerability, or scoring or settlement error.
- Submitting picks on behalf of, or using the credentials of, another person.
- Fraud, misrepresentation, or other deceptive conduct in connection with the Platform.
- Any conduct otherwise prohibited under Lucra’s terms of service.
9. Platform Conduct & Community Standards
Users are expected to conduct themselves with respect at all times. Grass League reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate any account for conduct that violates these Terms or the spirit of fair competition, including without limitation abusive, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory conduct; impersonation of any person or entity; or conduct that disrupts other Users’ experience on the Platform.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including the Grass League and Grass League Pick’em names and logos, franchise names and marks, software, graphics, and interface design (collectively, “Company Content”) — is the property of Grass League or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform solely for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any Company Content without Grass League’s prior written consent.
11. Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. GRASS LEAGUE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL GRASS LEAGUE, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM. IN NO EVENT SHALL GRASS LEAGUE’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL ENTRY FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).
12.1 Service Providers
Lucra is not a party to these Terms and does not set pool rules, write or score questions, or determine pool outcomes. Sections 11 through 14 apply equally to, and are enforceable by, Lucra and Grass League’s other service providers as intended third-party beneficiaries.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Grass League and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right; or (d) any content you submit to or through the Platform.
14. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
14.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact Grass League at info@grassleague.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Grass League will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days of receiving written notice.
14.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, you and Grass League agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall take place in the State of Delaware. The arbitrator’s award shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
14.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND GRASS LEAGUE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING WITH RESPECT TO ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE PLATFORM OR THESE TERMS.
14.4 Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising hereunder shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles, except to the extent preempted by the Federal Arbitration Act.
15. Modifications to Terms
Grass League reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this Agreement and, where appropriate, provide additional notice via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the Platform following the effective date of any modification constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to modified Terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform and may close your account.
16. Account Termination
Grass League reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including without limitation your violation of these Terms. Upon termination for cause, Grass League may forfeit any prize or reward that has not yet been distributed. Funds held in your Lucra wallet are governed by Lucra’s terms of service.. You may voluntarily close your account at any time from your profile settings. Termination does not limit Grass League’s right to pursue any other remedies available at law or in equity.
17. Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Grass League with respect to the Platform and supersede all prior understandings, representations, or agreements.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver. Grass League’s failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without Grass League’s prior written consent. Grass League may assign its rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
Force Majeure. Grass League shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including without limitation acts of God, natural disasters, government action, or internet service disruptions.
