Born in Grand Rapids, MI, grew up in Chattanooga, TN, and now lives in Nashville, TN. He started golfing at 13, competing on his high school team & elite junior circuits including the SJGT and AJGA. At 17, he earned back-to-back amateur invites to a local Nationwide Tour event and entered college with scholarship offers from six programs, including Oklahoma and East Tennessee State.

Brian ultimately shifted his focus to business, building companies across fintech, private equity, insurance and media & entertainment, and advising founders. Brian is the founder and co-host of GolfNutsofficial.com podcast and the founder of ScrambleScout.com a competitive golf events discovery platform.
After a 14-year golf hiatus, Harstine returned to competitive golf with renewed passion. Formerly a +3 handicap, who now ranges from scratch to 4 and working back to +3 balancing competition and life as a new dad.
