A native of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jake is the son of Curt Byrum and nephew of Tom Byrum both former PGA Tour players. He played college golf at Grand Canyon University where he was a 2017 all WAC performer for the Lopes. Jake later went on to play professional golf on the Canadian Tour during the 2019 season and has since regained his amateur status back. He currently resides in Scottsdale and is a member at Phoenix Country Club.
