Joe grew up in Crystal Lake, Illinois where he would be dropped off from sun up to sun down at Twin Ponds Municipal Golf Course. He went on to play high school golf as well at the University of Minnesota and the University of Illinois. He traveled the south on the mini tours before joining the Nationwide Tour in 2010. Finishing 22nd on the money list in 2011 he earned his PGA Tour card. A variety of injuries brought his professional golf career to a close. He now calls Phoenix home.
