Maiya Tanaka is a PGA Class A Teaching Professional, former touring professional, and golf personality from San Diego, California. She earned a spot on UCLA’s Division I women’s golf team as a walk-on before turning professional in 2009 after appearing on Golf Channel’s Big Break. She competed on professional mini tours and qualified for the LPGA Canadian Open through a Monday qualifier.

Maiya also competed alongside her sister, Misa, on CBS’s The Amazing Race. She began her teaching career in the Hamptons and Miami Beach before returning home to San Diego, where she has spent the past decade coaching golfers in Del Mar. Known for her energetic, relatable coaching style and competitive background, Maiya combines elite playing experience, PGA expertise, and a passion for growing the game through instruction, media, corporate events, and brand partnerships.
