The 2025 Free Agent window has come and gone and Franchises have rounded out their rosters leading into the GL Championship. The Gila River Resorts and Casinos Season Long Race was a big factor when it came to the Free Agency window. Certain Franchises stood pat whereas other Franchises did substantial roster house cleaning.

Here are the most Notable Free Agent Additions:

Colt Knost | Hollywood Hitters

Colt is arguably the biggest splash of the free agency period. You could say that’s because of his constant media presence between CBS Sports and his Subpar Golf podcast,  but the league shouldn’t sleep on his golf accolades. Colt played five years on the PGA Tour, is a two-time winner on the Korn Ferry Tour, and won both the U.S. Amateur and the U.S. Amateur Public Links in 2007.

Colt joins an already “loaded” Hollywood Hitters roster that has vastly underperformed in 2025. They currently sit in seventh place entering the GL Championship, and it’s clear the Hitters’ management has begun to feel the pressure. If there were ever a player built for the Grass League, it would be Colt Knost. Never a long hitter, Colt is still known as one of the most precise iron players in the game and has made enough big putts to check all the boxes.

Scott Harrington | Hollywood Hitters

The belief around the league is that the Hollywood Hitters left the Summer Grind motivated – and clearly that was the case given the signing of Colt Knost and his playing partner Scott Harrington.

Harrington might not get the same fanfare as his playing partner, but make no mistake—he’s just as good. A Northwestern alum, he’s played professionally for 20 years, most notably on the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour. He’s best known for his ball striking, and if you factor in his playing partner Knost, this could be the ultimate pairing. Tip your cap to the Hollywood’s management—this free agency period has been the ultimate roster reload.

Charles Reiter | Los Angeles Roses

Charles Reiter joining the Roses just feels right—especially given that he’ll be paired with one of his best friends, Dylan Vanderveer. He has as much swagger as a golfer possibly could, and the California product will have extra motivation playing for the L.A. Roses owner and back-to-back World Series champion Dave Roberts.

Reiter is known within golf circles for his distance. At a practice round in the 2024 U.S. Open, he reportedly hit a tee shot 30 yards past Bryson DeChambeau’s—even though he hit it off the toe. Reiter is no stranger to the limelight. He played in his first PGA Tour event in his hometown when he was 19. Although he missed the cut, he returned the following year and a shot 63 in the third round.

Reiter has been chomping at the bit to get his first Grass League start. Now that it’s come, he just might be the difference-maker to help secure the Roses’ first title.

Gabriela Ruffels | Los Angeles Roses

Ryan Ruffels, the Roses’ captain, successfully recruited his sister to join the already deep Roses roster. His sister, Gabriela Ruffels, is an up-and-coming LPGA star—proving that the Ruffels family is as advertised. Both Ryan and Gabriela are from Australia, where they grew up watching their parents compete as professional tennis players.

Gabriela initially followed in her parents’ footsteps, playing tennis. She was the No. 1–ranked junior tennis player in Australia before switching her focus to golf. She played college golf at USC, won the 2018 U.S. Women’s Amateur, and is now firmly established on the LPGA Tour.

The Grass League has seen all types of pairings in tournament play, but this will be the first brother-sister duo to tee it up under the lights. Ryan is finally healthy heading into the Championship, and with his sister by his side the Roses could be an early favorite entering tournament play.

Charlie Beljan | Scottsdale Strikers

There will be a lot of firsts at the 2025 GL Championship—and with the addition of Charlie Beljan, the Grass League will have its first PGA Tour winner.

He won the 2012 Walt Disney World Classic and went on to play roughly seven years on Tour. Beljan is an Arizona native, and dating back to his younger years, he even won the 2002 U.S. Junior Championship.

The Scottsdale Strikers have been in contention in both the GCO and the Summer Grind but have been unable to make big-time shots in the biggest moments. The Strikers are hoping they can lean on Beljan to help the franchise take the next step at the pinnacle event of the year.
